Essai tuto
LOVE ME
This is my first ever tutorial - eeeeeeek!
This tut is written for people who have a good working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro
and who are used to making tags.
If there are any similarities to another tutorial, it's wholly unintentional and completely coincidental.
I've amended this page so the text is bigger - blimey! I wrote this and the
text was tiddly lol!
OK - I have no idea how to attach supplies to webpage (told you I was new at this!)
so please use your imagination 'till I work out how to do that lol!
SUPPLIES NEEDED
Tube of Choice - (this tut was originally done with a Boller tube)
It has now been redone with the gorgeous work of Barbara Jensen
You must purchase a license to use her artwork in PSP tags
See Barbara's site for more details.
Embellishments or Scraps of Choice - I used Rainbow Coffi's lovely tubes
Her creations are available at the PSP Playground forum.
Bling of Choice - I used one of Nicky's from HERE
Nice Fat Font and Scripty Font of Choice
Ready?
Let's Start...
1. Open a New Image in PSP 550 x 550 pxls
White Background
Preset Shapes, Rectangle, Line Width 6, Foreground #af1e25, Background Null
New Raster Layer
Draw out a Rectangle on the left of the canvas.
Happy? Convert to Raster Layer.
New Raster Layer
Draw out a small square and place on the right of the Rectangle.
Happy? Then Convert to Raster layer.
Duplicate twice
Move the duplicates to look like mine....
OK?
Hide the White Background and Merge Visible.
Unhide Background.
2. Now, Copy and Paste your Main Tube
Place where desired and Resize if Needed (I usually resize by 80%, Smart Size)
OK, now if you don't want your tube to look like it's coming out of the tag
skip to part 3 - if you do, read on...
Right, move your tube to the edge of the rectangle...and duplicate the tube.
Move the duplicate to UNDER the Square Layer. Make sure the Original is above the Square layer.
On your Original, get your Eraser and on a nice smallish setting, Rub out
the overlapping excess...you'll see that the bottom layer combined with the top tube looks like
she's behind the red rectangle, but her head won't be....cool eh? LOL!
OK, add a nice subtle dropshadow to your BOTTOM tube layer...
It will now look a bit like this...
3. Now for your Background.
Magic Wand Tool, 0 Tolerance, and Click inside each
of the 4 squares.
Selections
Modify
Expand by 2
New Raster Layer (make sure it's the layer just above
your white canvas background)
Now - go nuts!
Use Textures or a Pattern of Choice OR
Flood Fill with the same red we used for the Squares and then
play with your PSP Effects or Plug In Filters to get an effect you like.
Happy?
Good.
Don't Deselect just yet.
Get your main Tube again, and paste as a New Layer.
Place where you'd like it to be, and change the Layer Setting to Soft Light
or another that you like.
If you're happy with the placement then
Selections,
Invert,
Delete the excess
and make sure this layer is just above your tag background.
Should now have something that looks a bit like this...
4. Now for your embellishments.
Go wild, and use your imagination
If you use the same ones as me, then if you'd like to make it
look like they are woven through the square frame then use
the same method as in Part 2.
Same subtle dropshadow as before to the embellishment (BOTTOM layer only
so the shadow doesn't get rubbed out and also so you can't see the rub join)
5. Important Part Now - don't forget to add the artist Copyright Information and
your tagger info....
6. Ok, we're on the home straight now LOL!
Add an embellishment at the bottom - I used one of Rainbow Coffi's flowers
Now use your fat font, set on Width 2, Foreground the same red, Background a lighter shade.
Vector, and type out the words you'd like to use on the bottom.
Stretch to size and Convert To Raster - Same Dropshadow.
Ensure this is under your flower layer.
Now, write out your text to go behind her head.
To make it look like some of the text is in front of your tube and some
of it is behind - use the same method of duplicate and rub that I used in Part 2.
One text layer below your main tube, the other above it.
(gawd, I hope this is making sense lol!)
Ok, Now, save your PSPImage in Layers.
(This will mean you can make many copies of your tag and
also have your work saved in layers)
For the working copy that you're going to tag, on your PSPImage hit
Shift D and Layers Merge Flatten
Save as a .PNG file
(this is the copy of your hard work
that we're going to take to A/S to animate)
Open Animation Shop
Back in PSP, on your PNG, Ctrl C and then over
to A/S and Ctrl V to Paste as a New Animation
OK, in A/S, open your bling of choice.
See how many layers it has? (Mine had 21 frames)
OK, duplicate your PNG to match the Frame amount.
Then on your PNG, Go to
Edit ,Select All
Animation
Animation Properties and make sure it's on Opaque, Colour White.
Now, check your PNG frames are still all selected
Now, on your Bling, do Edit, Select All
Click Propagate Paste on your A/S toolbar
Everything on both animations is selected?
So grab your
FIRST frame of your Bling and drag it over to your FIRST frame of
your PNG. Place it where you'd like the bling to start from and then
if you're happy - let go!
Now, Back to PSP, using your scripty font
I used Foreground Null, Background Black
Write out the name on the tag.
I then rotated it do a nice angle and added the same drop shad.
Ctrl C and then back to A/S, Ctrl V.
Then, making sure that your PNG still has Edit Select All
and Frame 1 is highlighted and Propagate Paste is still on,
Drag your name over to the PNG frames and place where you'd like
Let go!
OK, now check your work.
View, Animation and adjust speed if needed.
Whoopee! Then you're all finished.
Fabulous! Congratulations you've
just made your first tag from a Vix Tutorial
Sorry it was long and a bit faffy, but I hope you'll agree the result is worth it.
Hugs xx
